WHAT IS NDF?
The National Digital Forum is a network of people working together to enhance digital interaction with culture and heritage in Aotearoa New Zealand. We host an annual conference, support local events, and provide capability improvement and professional development opportunities for the cultural sector.

To facilitate digital leadership and inspiration across the cultural sector of Aotearoa.
New Zealand’s cultural sector encompasses a broad range of cultural and creative industries and activities: film, music, broadcasting, design and digital technologies, our built heritage, libraries, literature, museums and galleries, performing and visual arts (Ministry for Culture & Heritage definition)

Events and gatherings: A programme of events (in multiple forms) that showcases and champions digital leadership and /inspiration.
Sustainable operations: A fully subscribed events programme that sustains the organisation, and the systems and structures in place to support it.
Community development and partnerships: A growing and inclusive community that delivers value to all members, including through partnership.
EVENTS AND GATHERINGS
1.1. A highly valued and profitable annual conference (online or in person or both) that brings together national and international community members.
1.2. Needs-defined events (including virtual) that enact our purpose around the country.
1.3. Opportunities are created to foster our members developing into digital leaders for the future.
SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS
2.1. An organisational structure and effective systems to support our vision, values and purpose.
2.2. Members (especially at founding partner and Kauri level) join and participate in NDF to get value for and return on their investment.
2.3. Events and gatherings are fully subscribed and do not operate at a loss.
2.4. Sponsorship agreements and ‘in kind’ contributions from associates are secured.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & PARTNERSHIPS
3.1. NDF is connected to and grows its members and associated communities.
3.2. Working partnerships (MoUs) with related organisations - nationally and internationally - to realise our vision, values and purpose.
3.3. NDF actively engages with Māori-led organisations to support Kaupapa Māori priorities.
