Aaron Straup Cope in conversation with Adam Moriarty

NDF2012 Conference Keynote Aaron Straup Cope and NDF Board member Adam Moriarty reflect on the last ten years of digital practice. Presented at NDF AGM 2022.

Aaron Straup Cope discussed topics ranging from his career path to the challenges of designing bespoke hardware and visualizing collections online. Cope also shared insights on staffing and retention issues in the cultural heritage sector and the need to build internal capacity. As the “Head of Internet Typing” at the San Francisco International Airport Museum, he aims to take the museum online and build systems that connect the whole airport experience back to the collection. The conversation also emphasized the importance of designing systems with patience in mind and developing practices that encourage sustained efforts and build capability within the sector.
